MANDALA ART

Mandala Art has been the Key Essence Behind Storybeyondlines’ journey in transforming peoples lives through Art

In the ancient Sanskrit language of Hinduism and Buddhism, mandala means “circle.” Traditionally, a mandala is a geometric design or pattern that represents the cosmos or deities in various heavenly worlds. Mandalas are believed to represent different aspects of the universe and are used as instruments of meditation and symbols of prayer.  They were produced in Tibet, India, Nepal, China, Japan, Bhutan, and Indonesia and date from the 4th century to present. Now they are created throughout the world, becoming an appreciative and meditative art across the world.

The process of creating a mandala is a form of reflection and a meditation in itself. It can be an efficient stress-relieving exercise, and also helps to promote mindfulness, attention and focus, which in itself is very therapeutic. Furthermore, Mandalas allow for true self-expression, healing and transformation within the process of its creation.

So Come & Explore the Artistic World of Mandalas & Get Meditative!

Exhibition – “PRANA”

At The Nehru Centre, Cultural Wing of the Indian High Commission, London

Storybeyondlines hosted its solo art show “PRANA” , an art exhibit of the different patterns and styles of the Mandala Art, encapsulating the different energies that surrounds us, that grounds us to our roots and culture.

Self designed and Handmade, all the works were inspired by the ancient Meditative Mandala Art, representing 3 forms of energies that define us-  The Shiv- Shakti  or the Yin Yang Energy; Calm & Peaceful Energy and Gracious & Vibrant Energy.

The different varieties and patterns, left the audience and art lovers enthralled and inspired by this non-conventional art form.

Alongside the exhibition, Storybeyondlines also hosted a one day Mandala Art Workshop, where the participants created a beautiful Mandala artwork, with step-by-step guidance given to them. The fun and engaging workshop gave the participants a chance to connect with their inner self, leaving them with a sense of peace and confidence thereafter.

Portfolio

I was curious about Mandala having admired their intricacy and beauty on travels in South Asia. I came across StoryBeyondLines flyer for Mandala classes and wanted to give it a go. I thought I’d maybe attend one or two sessions and find that it was too tricky or that I wasn’t creative enough or my hands shook too much to make anything beautiful. Instead, with Ekta’s patient teaching, fun classes and passion for Mandala, I’ve joined weekly classes and developed a love for the evolving beauty of the drawings as they emerge. Mandala helps me to focus, provides serenity where there is noise, and brings immense joy! Try a class, or two, or three…

ARTIST

Namaste

I'm Ekta, the creative soul behind “Story Beyond Lines”.

After completing my Masters in Business Administration and working in the corporate world for nearly a decade, I realized my true calling was art. Although self-taught, I have felt a deep connection to art since childhood, creating works for over ten years now. Over time, I understood my purpose was to create art that connects people to their spiritual energy.

This drove me to share my gift with the world through "Story Beyond Lines“, and thus my journey started. With numerous workshops under my belt and many customized commissions, I have brought my artistic expression to audiences in London, India, and beyond.

An avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places and meeting new people, I am also a certified yoga instructor and a fitness enthusiast, and also love playing board games!

Blessed to a be a part of your spiritual journey through my art!
